DuAnne Redus, Founder & Executive Director
DuAnne is deeply committed to progressing beyond traditional methodology and organizational structure. Her vision is leading the organization to become self-sustainable. She uses her degrees in business and psychology combined with 18 years of corporate experience to create innovative programs that facilitate positive expansion of participants' self-concept and self-esteem.
Brenda Freed, Board Member
With a Masters in Music Therapy/Music Education with an emphasis in Counseling, Brenda founded the music therapy program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa and spent 8 years working with Pediatrics, Child Psych and Chemically Dependent clients. Brenda brings her experience as an educator, counselor and music therapist to YTC, qualified to design programs that will benefit at-risk youth using creative arts therapies as well as traditional therapies.
Stanley Smith, Board Member
Besides being a board member, Stanley leads workshops and develops curriculum. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Stanley retired with twenty-five years of public service with the Texas Dept. of Protective and Regulatory Services and the Texas Dept. of Health as a licensed Master Social Worker. A Fifth Degree Black Belt, Stanley's martial arts instruction experience includes students with physical and mental challenges. He has worked on many youth projects of YTC.
Margo Stewart, Board Member
Margo spent more than 21 years with a Fortune 500 information technology company and has been independently consulting and coaching business leaders since 1997. As a business leader herself, she had responsibility for strategic planning teams, oversaw executive and organizational development programs and directed quality and business improvement initiatives across multiple business units serving communications, entertainment and direct marketing industries. She chose consultancy to bring unique strategies to people and organizations wishing to prepare for and expand their future choices. Closing the gap between the desired future, the current reality, and the work it takes to deliver on individual and organizational goals, are the focus of her efforts. Ms. Stewart's interest lies in the integration of the science of business management with the learning and wisdom needed for transformational leadership.
Max Villarreal, Secretary of the Board
Max brings 20+ years of his specialized experience in service to the Board. He worked in interagency coordination, both with other state, federal and inter-national governmental agencies; interpreted federal funding policy requirements, developed agency policy and coordinated agency efforts to secure federal funding. He also brings experience in providing fiscal oversight of various federal and state programs. He understands program development and operations through his years serving in the Protective Services for Families and Children in Austin.
Rainbow Johnson, Ph.D., Board Member
Dr. Johnson holds a Bachelor's Degree from UCLA in Education and English, a Master's Degree from the University of California at Northridge in Psychology and Counseling. She has been a professional counselor and teacher for over 21 years.
